Joana Maia

Joana is a Managing Director and Head of Portugal at Veld Capital. Joana joined AnaCap Financial Partners in 2018, launching the Portuguese office and establishing a local Portuguese securitisation company in 2019. Joana is responsible for master servicing in Portugal, providing oversight across a range of predominantly non-performing assets in Portugal, as well as local origination and due diligence support. Joana also serves as a Director of Veld’s Portuguese securitisation company.

Prior to joining Veld, Joana was a Director and member of the Executive Committee at Whitestar Asset Solutions in Lisbon and began her career at Abreu Law. Joana holds a Law Degree from Universidade Católica Portuguesa and a Postgraduate degree in Consumer Law from Universidade de Lisboa.
